Engineering Manager, AI at Meta - Meta

**Summary:** The Wearables AI Org at Meta is seeking a strong technical leader to join our team and work on the next generation of AI Experiences on wearable devices. As a technical leader in the team, you will play a critical role in building the core AI tech powering the experiences on Meta's Smart Glasses, AR Glasses, Quest devices and AI-centric wearables. We have the opportunity to build the next computing platform powered by the latest and greatest AI technologies. We conduct research and engineering to build state-of-the-art LLMs to support on-device and on-server use cases, optimize them for natural voice interaction, and deliver knowledge-grounded, actionable, personalized AI. We are looking for strong AI Manager who have a background in generative AI, Speech and NLP, with experience in areas like conversational AI, speech and audio processing; component and end-to-end evaluation; data processing for pre-training and fine-tuning; responsible AI & LLM alignment; reinforcement learning for language model tuning; efficient training and inference; and/or multilingual and multimodal modeling. Last year we launched the AI Assistant on Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, and we are working on making it a truly human-like Assistant that can see what you see and hear what you hear, helping users get things done in the most ubiquitous way. **Required Skills:** Engineering Manager, AI at Meta Responsibilities: 1. Support and grow a team of AI, Speech and NLP experts 2. Develop technical vision, long-term strategy and set direction for the team and the organization 3. Drive execution of developing models and systems that are crucial to the end user experience 4. Present the team's work and plans in cross-company executive forums 5. Communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with clients and peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 6. Experience and track of record in landing large product impacts in a fast-paced environment 5+ years of hands-on experience in large language model, Speech, NLP, and/or multimodal modeling, in the setting of both research and engineering development 7. 2+ years of hands-on supporting and leading teams of software engineers and research scientists 8. Experience in developing large-scale AI services 9. Experience with cross functional collaboration with product and platform teams, as well as non-engineering functions 10. Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, leading technical organizations, including performance management **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 11. PhD in deep learning, artificial intelligence, and/or related technical field 12. Direct experience in generative AI and LLM research. Hands-on knowledge of training and fine-tuning LLMs 13. Experience and knowledge of ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc. 14. Experience and knowledge of multi-modal modeling and computer vision 15.
