**Summary of Position:
**
The Engineering Manager position leads and executes reverse engineering, new product development, continuous improvement projects and supporting the quality team with laser scanner inspection. This role will utilize sophisticated 3D scanning/printing equipment and software to design and engineer high performance motorsports parts/assemblies and aerospace and defense programs. As a department lead position, they will be responsible for managing project timelines, efficiency, and financial activities such as quoting and department P&L oversight.
This position must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and have a deep-rooted understanding of the industries served and deliverables. The role is collaborative and requires ISO 9001 and AS 9100 experiences.
**Duties & Responsibilities
**
Effectively Drive projects from start to finish and execute engineering changes as necessary.
Coordinate parallel path integration on projects and capable of prioritization and managing competing demands to meet project and company goals.
Work efficiently with all departments for quick turn updates and engineering projects.
Manage department estimating and P&L.
Maximize the use of technology and tools.
Effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and production team to execute customer deliverables and internal projects.
Comply with ISO 9001 and AS 9100 standard and QMS processes by working with Engineering and Compliance team.
**Position Requirements
**
Ability to manage projects and lead a team.
Knowledge of FaroArm and associated inspection software
Knowledge of Creaform laser scanner and PolyWorks inspection software
Ability to use and manipulate data in Microsoft excel for reporting and SPC
Effectively troubleshoot issues that arise from manufacturing environment
Proficient in 3D modeling
Proficient in CMM operation and programming, Calypso platform preferred.
Familiar with GD&T, inspection planning, 1st piece inspection, and AS9102 First Article Inspection
CAD Software
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to one hundred (100) pounds.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Also, to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
**Education and/or Experience
**
Minimum requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Bachelors in Engineering Studies
Five to Seven years’ experience in a production environment.
5+ years of Solidworks experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Higher education focusing on Machining, Industrial Engineering.
Experience with Process Control, Microsoft Office Suite, and E2.
Experience in Aerospace and Defense industries.
