Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects related to equipment maintenance and replacement, plant design, process improvement, and cost savings initiatives. This role requires strong technical expertise in manufacturing and project management, with a preference for experience in the pet food manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and oversee engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, maintenance, and quality assurance.
- Equipment Maintenance and Replacement:
- Lead projects related to equipment maintenance, upgrades, and replacements to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of existing equipment and systems to identify areas for improvement.
- Plant Design and Process Improvement:
- Oversee plant design and layout projects to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to streamline manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Cost Savings:
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives to improve overall operational efficiency.
- Analyze project data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
- Vendor and Contractor Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Manage procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present regular project status reports, including progress updates, budget tracking, and performance metrics.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, specifications, and technical reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of directly relevant experience in engineering project management within the manufacturing industry.
- Experience with pet food manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and plant design.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
