Job Description: Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities include the engineering, start up and tuning of combustion/boiler control systems for power plants. Deep knowledge of combustion/boiler control applications. Hands-on experience tuning boiler related control loops, logic, control valves, sensors and tuning of controls.
• Maintain ***’s suite of distributed control system (DCS) hardware and software. Handle customer questions about the state of the *** system.
• Handle customer service-related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve technical problems on-site. Deal directly with, and communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, 3rd party vendors, and other *** personnel in support of service operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment applying own technical knowledge and experience to resolve problems. Training on *** products and services will be provided; however, a basic understanding of computer networks, computer software(operating systems) and DCS systems (architecture, project engineering and HMI/graphic creation) is required for the training to be beneficial. Recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction. Conduct detailed inventories and inspections to determine necessary maintenance and repairs.
• Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area. Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks. Assist in planning and coordinating team efforts. Often work non-standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions.
• Perform field service operations that may involve unusual problems requiring strong technical skills. Conduct tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of equipment and procedures. Record, compile and reduce data for analysis and assist in related assessment and preparation of reports. Construct prototype models, as request.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical field preferred.
