- 1 year working in a manufacturing environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as Finisher, Dimensional Operator, or Final Inspector
- Organization and communicate effectively
- Familiar with the use of PC and statistical software.
- Microsoft Word and Excel Skills
- Working knowledge of general statistics and SPC
- Enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree program from an accredited institution in Technology or Engineering, Vocational technology degree or certification.
- Two years of college, technical training, or equivalent experience.
- Basic Computer skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED:
- Some minor lifting of parts, up to 25 pounds.
- PPE required includes metatarsal shoes, hearing protection and safety glasses.

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Scrap Review Technician to join our Casting Facility located in Dover, New Jersey.

The primary role of the Scrap Review Technician (SRT) is to review all scrap castings and salvage as many as possible. In order to do this, SRT must be very familiar with quality specifications. This individual would also be responsible for storage and timely dispositioning of all deviated (MRB) material and customer returns. The job will involve frequent interaction with manufacturing, and quality engineering.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review all scrap castings and salvage as many as possible.
- Record, stamp, and sort (by alloy) all scrap castings.
- Coordinate with quality engineering to review all deviated (MRB) castings.
- Store/account for all MRB material while waiting for customer guidance.
- Issue monthly report including inventory and status of MRB cage.
- Collect/store scrap castings needed for machining set-ups, HIP and heat treat samples, and any other customer or engineering needs.
- Review customer returns and route out / scrap accordingly.
- Understand all visual/ dimensional /wall requirements for all jobs; also be knowledgeable of machining that takes place on the castings with our customers.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Minimize all scrap ("save" as many parts as possible).
- Keep all MRB inventory to an absolute minimum.
- Disposition all customer returns immediately.
