Job Description
Skyworks is seeking hands-on technician to join our Woburn Test Engineering Team. As a skilled specialist, you would be relied upon to complete tasks in creative and effective ways. Work on projects requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Provide essential engineering support focusing on various tasks within an Automated Test Equipment (ATE) lab environment. Understands implications of timelines and schedules and makes recommendations to complete in a timely manner. May provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.
Overall responsibilities: Supports engineering activities such as, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Uses manufacturing diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test equipment. ATE fixture assembly, validation, troubleshooting, and repair. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in the ATE solution transfer to production by assisting Test Engineers with fixture assembly, BOMs, documentation and shipping. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth transfer of ATE solution release to production, contributing to the overall success of Woburn Test Engineering Team.
This role has an emphasis as a test handler specialist: Includes, SRM, Epson, ESMO, STI, handlers and tape and reel equipment, as well as TEL and Semics probers. Requires equipment tooling changes, setups, repair, preventative maintenance and operation. Various vision systems setups and calibration. Management of spare parts inventory, calibration and PM cycles. Works with OEM vendors for equipment updates, design updates, and new equipment purchase.
Basic Skills and Qualifications
• Associate degree or equivalent years of experience
• Minimum of four years of directly relevant experience
• Proficiency in surface mount soldering
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and adherence to best electrical practices
• Experience with hot air rework techniques
• Ability to interpret assembly drawings and electrical schematics accurately
• Excellent manual dexterity for microscopic work
• Strong organizational skills, with a focus on attention to detail and process adherence
• Understanding of laboratory standards and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities in a dynamic work environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience operating Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and handlers for semiconductor testing
• Knowledge of ATE fixture assembly
• Experience managing lab protocols, including scheduling calibration of engineering lab/test floor equipment and accessories
• Capability to perform testing and troubleshooting at the board and component level
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $32.69 - $57.16 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
