Note: Day shift compressed work week gets a 10% differential. Night shift compressed work week gets a 15% differential.
Overview:
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work with semiconductor manufacturing equipment? As an Engineering Technician IV, you will provide customer support for onsite installations, repairs, and maintenance of semiconductor equipment primarily in Hillsboro, Oregon. This role offers the chance to be at the forefront of technology and join a dedicated team enhancing processes in a pre-production environment. You will receive training in Austin, Texas or Hillsboro, Oregon for a period of 1-3 months.
Note: This position will work night shifts on a compressed work week and requires flexibility to change the work schedule as needed. Full-time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory is required.
Responsibilities:
- Check and maintain equipment to ensure compliance with factory standards.
- Instruct customers on the operation and maintenance of the system equipment.
- Act as a liaison between the company and the customer for assigned projects, including installations and major component replacements.
- Perform complex repairs and unit replacements independently and collaboratively.
- Provide technical support to customers and address inquiries regarding operational procedures, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues to minimize downtime and foster positive customer relationships.
- Identify and report equipment errors and status updates related to performance issues to assist in troubleshooting or maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities and provide periodic reports.
- Conduct training for customer personnel to ensure proficiency in service and operations.
- Collaborate with other technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience (technical training, military training, or technical school) along with 3-5 years of related experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field (semiconductor manufacturing equipment).
- Hands-on mechanical skills and experience with electronic testing tools are required.
- Knowledge of Linux operating system preferred for operating and troubleshooting systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Customer support experience is a plus.
- Must be able to travel and work flexible schedules.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment, including wearing full cleanroom suit, facemask, gloves, and safety glasses.
- May require international and domestic travel (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary).
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently; assistance may be available for lifting over 30 pounds.
- Significant standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking, and hearing required.
- Occasional kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
- Close visual acuity for extensive reading, visual inspection of small defects, parts, and operation of machines.
- Work environment may include exposure to mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and lasers.
- Ability to work in time-sensitive situations requiring quick problem resolution.
