Position Objective
To apply standard practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical and other technical discipline in providing support for ongoing manufacturing, engineering and related technical projects and programs.
Responsibilities
The following description includes most significant duties to be performed. However, other work assignments not mentioned are assumed included and will be determined by the program manager and would be in conformity with the value assigned to this role.
- Inspects tests, adjusts and certifies moderately complex assemblies, subassemblies, parts and systems for compliance with specifications and quality assurance practices following blueprints, schematics and inspection manuals using hand tools and precision testing equipment.
- Troubleshoots malfunctions in moderately complex equipment by providing assistance via telephone, message or personal visit to site. Performs repairs by adjusting, calibrating, aligning or modifying circuitry and components using hand and power tools.
- Sets up standard test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, and environmental and life tests. Installs equipment field changes. Assembles and/or modifies wires, insulation and components using hand and power tools. Installs assemblies and hardware into housing.
- Reviews and edits technical reports and manuals and develops and revises charts, graphs and schematics to describe and illustrate systems operating characteristics.
- Arranges transportation for shipment of parts, equipment and material to various operations.
- Soldering of components and sub-assemblies.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Shift work/Overtime maybe required.
Position Requirements
- Excellent communications skills, systems troubleshooting, fault isolation/diagnosis and the ability to read, comprehend and follow technical data, including drawings, schematics, blueprints etc.
- 3 years of experience in electronic systems repair.
- Associates Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent 3 years of professional experience.
Desired Skills / Experience
- Experience in electrical and mechanical and optical assemblies.
- Experience in reading electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Experience in working with tools and soldering.
- Experience in electro-optic avionics repair.
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects with short deadlines.

- Essential physical requirements, standing, sitting, stooping and typing.
