Day-to-Day Duties May Include:
- Building engineering prototypes, including coordinating materials and developing build processes and fixtures required to complete builds.
- Performing electronic and mechanical reworks on the spot.
- Diagnosing failures on engineering systems, repairing and upgrading engineering prototypes and lab systems (system level failures, sub-assembly failures, test fixture failures).
- Executing engineering-level tests and collecting data to support the design of experiment activities or characterize a device.
- Prioritizing activities across multiple projects, coordinating with team members on requirements and deadlines for each task.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of 5 yearsÂ’ experience with assembly and troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate well with design and manufacturing engineers.
- Moving or lifting equipment/product up to 30 lbs. occasionally required.
- Ability to perform mechanical fabrication using machine and hand tools.
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing techniques and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to build high-quality prototypes without detailed process instructions.
