Enrichment Activity Instructors – After School Programs
Up to 25 positions at multiple After School Program sites
After School hours (typically 2-2.5 hrs/day), Varied hours and days, depending on school assignments.
Salary: $18.00 per hour/ $18.50 per hour for returning staff
General Overview
The goal of the After School Programs is to raise math and literacy levels, improve academic performance, strengthen social relationships, and provide meaningful opportunities for students in the After School Expanded Learning Program.
The Enrichment Activity Instructor (EAI) will report directly to the Site Coordinators. The Site Coordinators will coordinate and supervise all program sites and activities.
Applications should include a letter of introduction that indicates the subject area you plan to lead. Past topics have included Dance, STEM, Cooking, Leadership, Arts & Crafts, Drama, Music, Active Games. Other topics considered and welcomed!
Qualifications: A desire to share your skills and interests with elementary and middle school students. Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students. Ability to create and lead enrichment activities. Commitment to regularly communicate through email. Ability to relate well with students, staff, and parents. Experience with classroom and behavior management. Bilingual communication skills are highly valued but not required. Experience supporting low-income students from culturally diverse backgrounds preferred. Ability to uphold privacy and confidentiality requirements.
Responsibilities: Develop, implement and lead engaging activities with elementary and/or middle school age students. Assist Site Coordinator in recruiting students to activities. Create lessons that emphasize project-based and/or experiential learning. Submit identified learning goals and supply lists in lesson plan format. Manage classroom behaviors and student attendance records. Leave classroom or activity space clean and organized. Attend professional development opportunities including those which may occur outside of typical work hours.
