Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IT professional to support a large, complex IT environment for Federal or State Government operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cloud Architecture, including the ability to create and validate architecture designs across various Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle/OCI). This role involves developing migration strategies (on-premises to Cloud) and new enterprise services in the cloud, including integrating Cloud inherent services (e.g., DR, Messaging, Notification, AAD, Serverless) with on-premises requirements (AD sourced). These services will be offered via a Service Catalog and integrated with a resource orchestration tool such as CloudScend (Morpheus, Terraform, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support large, complex IT environments for Federal or State Government.
- Create and validate architecture designs across various Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle/OCI).
- Develop migration strategies from on-premises to Cloud.
- Integrate Cloud inherent services with on-premises requirements.
- Offer services via a Service Catalog integrated with resource orchestration tools.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with 14 years of experience, or
- Master’s degree with 12 years of experience, or
- PhD with 9 years of experience preferred.
- Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, or
- Master’s degree with 5 years of experience.
Certifications:
- ITIL v4 certification preferred (Foundation or above).
- Extensive experience with one or more Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, etc.).
Experience:
- Extensive infrastructure experience including solution design.
- Experience translating business requirements and objectives into IT strategy.
- Familiarity with application, platform, and infrastructure layers.
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Identifying and resolving gaps in artifact-driven documentation processes.
- Enterprise network architecture and design.
- Server and storage design.
- IT Infrastructure Capacity/Availability management.
- Enterprise-wide virtualization.
- Public/private cloud infrastructure and design.
- Design and implementation of enterprise-wide collaboration tools.
- Enterprise Architecture – Governance, Frameworks/Patterns, Architecture Overview (High-level, Detail Design) artifact creation, review, and management.
- Experience with EA management tools (e.g., Ardoc, LeanIX) for managing lifecycle/EOL, tech debt/risk, architecture planning, roadmaps, strategy, and modeling.
