Description: Our client is currently seeking a Enterprise Safety Program Manager
Direct and manage the corporate safety program to protect employees and assets of the credit union. Communicate and interact with members, law enforcement, community officials, and branch/department personnel to ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Develop and facilitate ongoing safety and de-escalation training, with a focus on mental health awareness, for all employees.
Administer and maintain the physical and psychological safety program, including corporate safety policies and procedures.
Provide training and awareness for branch and headquarters personnel on de-escalation procedures.
Maintain thorough knowledge of state and federal laws related to credit union compliance.
Promote a positive work environment with safety as a top priority, fostering skill development and positive employee morale.
Review, analyze, and act on procedural recommendations for safety, efficiency, and soundness.
Identify, investigate, and respond to member issues and concerns.
Review, recommend, and negotiate vendor contracts.
Assess adherence to corporate safety programs and procedures, traveling to branches statewide for assessments and training.
Manage safety-related vendors, including selection, contract negotiation, and billing reconciliation.
Lead Golden 1’s Safety Team and evaluate service providers in accordance with corporate policy and safety needs.
Conduct interviews and investigations related to safety issues.
Engage with community organizations to promote a safe environment.
Lead or participate in cross-functional projects impacting the credit union’s safety posture.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: 7+ years of progressively responsible experience overseeing a safety program, with a strong focus on mental health and de-escalation techniques, in a financial institution. Physical/Corporate Security/Safety, Executive Protection, or related experience required.
Knowledge/Skills:
Strong oral and written communication and leadership skills.
Knowledge of automated database programs, financial calculators, personal computer software, and electronic banking equipment.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional, enterprise-wide projects.
Strong ethics, professionalism, and the ability to communicate safety guidance effectively.
Licenses/Certifications:
Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred
