Entitlement Coordinator - Nascentia Health

The Entitlement Coordinator assists members with the Medicaid benefits, including applications, understanding, and applying for any other benefits that they may be entitled to. Assist the MLTC Operations Team with a wide array of departmental initiatives.

Position Description:

1. Assist with all referrals made to the Entitlement Department involving this such as: Medicaid benefits, spenddown, heating and food stamp assistance, and housing.
2. Collaborates with the care management teams regarding member needs.
3. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and courteous manner
4. Remain up-to-date with changes in OHP/Medicaid and Social Security Disability benefits.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with Local Department of Social Services to help mitigate member eligibility issues
6. Document all appropriate activities in Electronic Medical Record.
7. Provide support for ad-hoc and planned departmental projects.
8. Participate in departmental meetings and attend all scheduled staff meetings and staff training as applicable.
9. Support QA activities as directed.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor degree in business, liberal arts, or any related field or equivalent required.
2. One year of customer service or human service experience required.
3. Strong computer literacy and comfort, ability, and desire to advance technically and understand industry standards.
4. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential issues and participate in their resolution.
5. Proficiency with computer systems, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and various software applications.
6. Valid NYS driving license required.
7. Must be skillful in verbal and oral communication, interpersonal relationships and other related personal skills, such as self-discipline and time management.

Physical Requirements:

1. Speech, visual, and hearing ability sufficient to express and comprehend written and verbal communication
2. Ability to sit or stand 90 percent of the day
3. Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Category III – Employee who rarely has contact with blood and body fluids.
