What is Build-A-Plumber? It’s a fun name for a fun plumbing program!
Basically, you’ll be training to become a Drain Technician for Morris-Jenkins.
You don’t need any plumbing experience, and we’ll even pay you during training (starting at $18/hr through training).
Classes begin January 13, 2025!
Your Role In Build-A-Plumber:
- You’ll participate in classes and labs. When you join Build-A-Plumber, you’ll have some time in the classroom, time in our state-of-the-art lab, and time riding along with current technicians to actual appointments.
- You’ll go from no Plumbing experience to a Plumbing pro! Our Build-A-Plumber trainees come from all kinds of backgrounds. Your background is part of who you are today, but it doesn’t have to dictate who you’re gonna be tomorrow. If you wanna be a plumbing technician, put in the effort and we can help you become one of the best!
- You’ll graduate and become a full-time Drain Technician.
- You’ll make good money. Morris-Jenkins offers compensation far beyond most other companies. After you graduate from class, we’ll give you a raise! Many of our Build-A-Plumber graduates are now making more than $100k a year.

Responsibilities:
As a Plumbing Trainee, you’ll:
- You’ll provide excellent customer service while properly addressing customer concerns.
- You’ll perform light plumbing duties, such as installing a garbage disposal or faucets.
- You’ll clear drains from bathtubs, showers, and/or whole home sewer mains.

- Plumbing is one of the highest paid trades in America! Not only that, but pay for plumbers is more consistent than pay for HVAC technicians, and the room for growth is even better! We have the best plumbers around, and we have the best pay around! Our Drain Techs can expect to make around $56,000 in their first year.

Must be able to identify and inspect equipment, parts, and colored wiring to safely test, repair, and install electrical connections with precise hand-eye motor skills.
Mental Demands: Must be able to perceive and distinguish emotions, as well as deal with adversarial confrontations. Requires an ability to concentrate and prioritize multiple tasks at once. Conscious attention to detail is required to safely perform tasks.
Work environment: Frequently requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and other hazards such as electrical shock, sharp objects, poisonous animals, etc. This job requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed by company policy.
- Valid local driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving history, and with acceptable driving & criminal background record
