We are looking for a bright and talented CAE Simulation Engineer that enjoys working with cross-functional teams and is passionate about developing the next generation of features and functions for International Motors vehicles. We are looking for a CAE Simulation engineer that can help tackle our future projects and take International Motors to the next level of functionality, quality and efficiency.
The CAE Simulation Engineer is responsible for various physics domains such as validating structural strength and durability, thermal performance and total vehicle range prediction of International Motors’s line of commercial vehicles.
- Conduct Simulation tools of components or systems to support design development and validation activities.
- Utilize Simulation tools to assess and optimize the performance of components and systems of commercial trucks and buses such as Frames and Suspensions, Cooling system, After Treatment, Battery box, Hood, Bumper etc. including full vehicle assemblies.
- Use skills in Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) to apply engineering theory to design development.
- Use measured test and field service data to correlate analysis results and participate in team level product decision-making processes.
- Communicate with a cross function engineering team (design, physical test, manufacturing and reliability) and follow company best practices to get the job done right the first time.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
OR
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment
- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
- Understanding of the principles of statics, structural dynamics, strength of materials and fatigue.
- Familiarity with FEA/CFD methods and some prior experience using FEA/CFD software.
- Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of FEA/CFD Pre/Post Processor (e.g. ANSYS, Hypermesh, ANSA or SpaceClaim)
- Working knowledge of CAE or CFD Solver (e.g. ANSYS, NASTRAN, ABAQUS or LS-DYNA, Fluent, StarCCM+)
- Proficient in C, VB or any other programming languages.
