Piper Companies is seeking an enthusiastic Entry-level EMC Test Engineer who will work on site in San Jose, CA for second shift (3:30 PM to 11:30 PM). The ideal Entry-level EMC Test Engineer has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with hands-on experience performing EMC tests and/or familiarity with EMC testing.
Responsibilities for the Entry-level EMC Test Engineer include:
- Conduct EMC compliance testing for networking equipment, including routers, switches, and servers.
- Set up and configure equipment under test (EUT) to simulate real-world operating conditions.
- Perform tests for radiated and conducted emissions, radiated and conducted immunity, electrostatic discharge (ESD), electrical fast transients, surges, voltage dips and interruptions, and magnetic immunity.
- Operate and maintain test and measurement equipment such as EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power amplifiers, and power meters.
- Develop detailed test plans and document results in comprehensive reports.
- Analyze test data to identify and resolve issues related to electromagnetic interference.
Qualifications for the Entry-level EMC Test Engineer include:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Experience or familiarity with EMC testing, including Radiated Emission, Radiated Susceptibility, Conducted Emission, Conducted Susceptibility, ESD, Surge, and other EMC tests.
- Experience or familiarity with using RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power amplifiers.
- Basic mechanical and assembly skills, including the use of basic hand tools and power tools.
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder and work on site in San Jose, CA
Compensation of the Entry-level EMC Test Engineer includes:
- Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 annually
