Entry Level Mechanical Engineer - Mead & Hunt

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing job site surveys of food and beverage manufacturing facilities to analyze ammonia refrigeration, process glycol and HVAC systems
• Calculating refrigeration requirements for process cooling loads and building loads
• Performing engineering calculations for system designs
• Assisting in the selection of system components required for new and existing systems
• Drafting and editing AutoCAD drawings
• Assisting in the development of project documentations
• Assisting in creating written specifications for equipment; coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors and customers.
• Travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university or be able to obtain degree within nine months of hire.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• A mechanical internship working in an engineering, architecture, or construction firm
• Coursework in heat transfer and thermodynamics
• Coursework or experience in AutoCAD
• Capability of obtaining an EIT within nine months of hire
• Familiarity with International Mechanical Code requirements, ASHRAE standards, and building construction material
