Dewberry has an opportunity for an Entry Level Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer to join a growing group of professional engineers in their Raleigh, NC office. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with previous internship experience. Projects may include; new multi-building facilities, retrofit projects, laboratory, mission critical facilities, as well as energy conservation studies, facility condition assessments, and due diligence reports addressing operating conditions and construction costs.

Responsibilities:
- Work with a project team and assist in the design of building systems (HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing) and life safety plans.
- Load calculations, hydraulic calculations, sizing and selecting equipment, ductwork and piping design and editing of specifications.
- Prepare design documents using ACAD/BIM in accordance with Dewberry standards.
- Field verification of existing systems, available space, clearances, etc.
- Assist Project Engineer on reports, calculations, computer simulations, and design/lay-out of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Arrange for in-house quality review in a timely manner primarily to ensure that all the clients' needs and requests have been accommodated.
- Ensure and coordinate among all disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
- Conduct construction site inspections, obtain as-built drawings, and close-out materials from contractors.
- Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree from an ABET accredited university is required.
- 0-2 years of experience.
- Communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
- Ability to coordinate the work of multiple disciplines.
- Prepare mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, project schedules and cost estimates to meet project requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD, Revit preferred and good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.
- Valid Driver’s License and Background Check is required.
