SUMMARY
Provides administrative support to the Plant Controller to include accounting-related data entry & reviews for accounting accuracy. Responsible for acquiring materials, supplies, parts, and services for requisitioned materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform accounting data entries, maintain records and create simple accounting reports.
- Perform accuracy reviews of the accounting posting process.
- Negotiate with and sometimes select vendors to obtain optimum prices and delivery on requisitioned supplies and services.
- Evaluates quotes for supplies and services to determine if they are compatible with company objectives and competitive.
- Monitor and assess vendor reliability and responsiveness, addressing problems as they occur.
- Investigate new supply source opportunities; assesses suitability of materials offered.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Responsible for changes to the purchasing system, including PO’s and price changes.
- Utilize LN and PC software to develop, maintain and generate effective reporting systems that relate to the job function.
- Responsible for ensuring proper authorization is obtained on requisition, purchase orders and contracts.
- Provides basis data for preparing environmental reports.
- Responsible for ensuring SDS’s are received and properly files for all purchased goods.
- Review and adjust material and supply inventories to needed production levels and lead-times.
- Ensures materials received in are invoiced & coded to appropriate GL account. Ensures invoices are approved prior to forwarding to Controller/Accounts Payable.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Possesses 2-4 years of related experience, and is competent in the operation of spreadsheet and word processing programs. Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Accuracy and organizational skills are required. Strong math/accounting aptitude and detail oriented. Ability to operate computer for data input and retrieval.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PAY RATE: $18-22/hour
