Entry Level Staff Accountant - MBE CPAs

MBE's offices are growing and we are currently hiring recent or upcoming college graduates with an accounting degree and interest in building a career in the public accounting field to work onsite at our Durango office. We provide opportunities in bookkeeping, individual tax, business tax, and audit. We are willing to train motivated candidates driven to support our clients and build a career in public accounting. What's the role?

Staff Accountants are a key part of the accounting team responsible for supporting client relationships while providing basic audit and/or tax preparation services. This role allows you to explore multiple facets of public accounting as you find your home in audit or business tax work. This includes:

• Preparing payroll, tax, and business records and reports.
• Preparing corporate and individual tax returns.
• Assisting with analyzing client financial records to identify potential accounting and auditing issues.

What experience and skills do I need to be successful?

• Upcoming graduate with or recently attained Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Desire to pursue a career in the public accounting industry.
• Internship or accounting experience within a public accounting environment is a plus, but not required.

What will my schedule look like?

At MBE, you'll enjoy the challenge of meeting deadlines during tax season with up to 50-60 hour weeks and the remainder of the year working 30-40 hour weeks flexing the typical Monday- Friday 8a-5p schedule around any personal passions or family time. Entry-level roles are required to work onsite at the office so you can be fully trained and mentored by team members. As you grow with the firm, the potential for a hybrid role may be discussed. Commonly this is discussed once you have 3 or more years of experience.
