ARE YOU THE ENTRY-LEVEL UPFITTING TECH - SNOW EQUIPMENT MECHANIC OUR TEAM NEEDS?
- Ability to diagnose, repair, and service snow plows and salter spreaders
- Familiarity with Fisher or Western brands of snow equipment
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Your own basic tools
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
While electrical and wiring knowledge would be beneficial, it is not a strict requirement. This is not an automotive repair position but an automotive snow equipment (plows/salters) position.
WHAT VITAL ASSISTANCE DO YOU PROVIDE?
You will work a consistent schedule that varies by season. In the summer, you'll enjoy a four-day workweek from Monday to Thursday, 8 am – 5 pm. During the winter, you'll work Monday to Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, with some Saturday shifts and overtime available to ensure our customers are prepared for the New Jersey winters.
As an Entry-level Upfitting Tech - Snow Equipment Mechanic, you will roll up your sleeves and dive into the hands-on work of upfitting light-duty trucks with plows and salter spreaders, primarily focusing on Fisher products. You will also service and repair other brands of equipment, including Western and Meyer, ensuring that each piece is ready to tackle the harsh winter conditions. On some days, you'll be installing durable hydraulic dump inserts, lift gates, emergency lighting, and aluminum flatbeds, while other days might find you inspecting trailers, adding hitches, and performing general repairs.
