About the Job
The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to members of the Special Waste team, assisting in daily office needs, and managing the department's general administrative activities. The incumbent manages & logs incoming information, reviews documents, arranges meetings and trainings.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitors incoming emails, logs entries into the project database and saves associated
- Answers incoming phone calls, collects basic customer information, logs entries into the database and evaluates the next action needed to meet the customer’s needs.
- Performs cursory document review and identifies deficiencies and/or confirms the completeness of information.
- Coordinates with landfills when waste approvals are nearing approved tonnage or works to gain an extension of expiration
- Provides general administrative and clerical functions including but not limited to electronic document management, data entry, and ordering supplies.
- Participates in and supports the organizing of meetings, sending invitations, creating, and maintaining meeting minutes, developing action item lists and agendas, and preparing training materials.
- Prepares reports utilizing various company systems to support regulatory requirements &
- Becomes familiar with applicable federal and state regulations, Casella landfill facility permits & operations
- Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 1-3 years of relevent administrative support and clerical experience, and be legally eligible to work in the US. Previous experience with engineering, environmental, or legal matters and an interest in an environmental and/or sustainability field is preferred.
Exceptional relationship management skills, excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills, and an ability to identify new and creative solutions are required. A demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
