Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a Scientist/Environmental Engineer/Safety Professional to lead a team of EHS professionals/EHS compliance specialists delivering EHS and sustainability solutions to commercial, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, power, and other industrial clients. The position includes completion of EHS projects through each stage of our client’s facility life cycle - including business and property acquisition due diligence, industrial facility operational compliance, auditing, environmental assessment/evaluation, and facility decommissioning and divestiture.
Your Key Responsibilities
+ Responsibilities are anticipated to include working independently or with support from a Stantec Project Manager to oversee the delivery of EHS projects to our clients.
Projects may include:
+ EHS due diligence, Phase I ESAs, and environmental assessment in support of business and property acquisitions.
+ Environmental assessments and studies, including environmental remediation and restoration.
+ EHS regulatory compliance assessments and audits at industrial and manufacturing client facilities and where clients perform field activities.
+ On-site EHS support at client facilities including completion of routine inspections, development of EHS programs, and correction of deficiencies in accordance with OSHA, DOT, federal, municipal, and/or state environmental regulations.
+ Technical consulting for clients on regulatory compliance matters including permit management, routine regulatory reporting (i.e., air, hazardous waste [RCRA and non-RCRA], EPCRA, etc.), occupational health, industrial hygiene, and industrial safety.
+ Energy and water use efficiency evaluations and implementation of improved sustainability measures.
+ EHS support during facility decommissioning, decontamination, and divestiture.

+ Develop business relationships with a focus on Industrial & Manufacturing clients in the West Region (Northern and Southern California, Pacific Northwest, and Southwest) with additional commitment to developing national and global relations to generate opportunities for Stantec worldwide.
+ Lead the response to requests for proposals generated through the candidate’s business relationships and as identified by Stantec Account and Client Managers.
+ Develop and coordinate a team of EHS consulting professionals.
+ Direct client interaction and accountability. Manage multiple clients and assume responsibility for the relationship and Stantec deliverables.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
+ A qualified candidate will have direct relevant experience supporting or leading all aspects of EHS, including but not limited to: due diligence, auditing, and compliance assurance; EHS procedures development and training in industrial and manufacturing settings; air quality, wastewater, chemical management, bulk liquid storage, and waste handling; industrial hygiene, environmental assessment, and industrial safety compliance.
+ Capable of promoting Stantec and discussing all our service offerings with a wide range of clients and/or prospective clients.
+ Participation in EHS audits to local, state, and federal regulations.
+ Practical ability to analyze technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and problem solve.
+ Strong organizational and communications skills (able to communicate solutions in writing, verbally and graphically).
+ Possession of current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training or ability to obtain this training is required.
+ OSHA 30-hour general industry and/or 10-hour construction safety training recommended.
+ Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer (CESCO), and or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred.
+ Travel may be required for the purpose of conducting EHS assessments, on-site EHS support, or for off-site meetings with clients and/or regulatory agencies.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint).
Education and Experience
+ A BS in Engineering, Environmental Science preferred, or related field.
+ Experience in electronic manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and industrial sector projects, power generation, and mining experience is preferred.
+ Minimum of 2 years related experience including:
+ Experience in electronic manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and industrial sector projects, power generation, and mining experience is preferred.
+ Experience with sustainability, including energy efficiency in industrial processes, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, delivering water reuse and recycling solutions, and supporting sustainable supply chain capacity building is helpful, as well as exposure to facility closure,
+ site investigation and land remediation services.
+ Field experience is mandatory, focusing on industrial EHS compliance experience and environmental assessment implementation and oversight.
+ Annual and/or random drug screening may be required by some clients.
+ This position will require the successful passing of a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Salary Range(s):
* SF Area $87,700 - SF Area $127,100 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
