PSI, an Intertek company, is searching for Environmental/Industrial Hygiene Techniciansto join our Building & Constructionteam in our San Antonio, Texas office. The Environmental / Industrial Hygiene Technician provides field testing of hazardous materials and Project monitoring for Asbestos, Lead, and Demolition projects.
The Building & Construction team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. The team offers the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site.

What you'll do:
- Perform hazardous building materials surveys for asbestos containing materials, lead-containing materials, indoor air quality, PCB's, universal wastes etc.
- Project Monitor and air sampling during abatement of hazardous materials
- Conduct environmental assessments for property transfers
- Interact and communicate with clients, contactors, and regulatory agency representatives
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- A degree in industrial Hygiene, Science, or Engineering related field is desired, but not required
- Experience in the asbestos Project Monitoring field desired
- Adaptability and flexibility to work shifts required by the project which may include night and weekends
- One or more of the following certifications is highly desirable, however Intertek-PSI will train:
- Licensed Asbestos Project Monitor
- Asbestos Inspector
- Asbestos Designer / Lead Inspector
- OSHA 40 HAZWOPER
- Be able to wear a respirator, safety harness and other safety equipment as needed
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record (required)
