The Environmental Services Manager leads and manages the overall physical plant, environment, maintenance and cleanliness of the internal community building and external community grounds. This position "owns" the appearance, maintenance, cleanliness and safety of the community and ensures that all preventive and corrective maintenance and cleaning is performed for the health, safety, comfort and wellbeing of all residents, guests and team members in accordance with the established state and federal code of regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the environmental services team and housekeeping team
- Recruit, train, develop, coach and motivate maintenance and housekeeping services staff to uphold high level of service standards
- Hire, evaluate and discipline staff as needed
- Participate in budget discussions for the environmental services division
- Work with corporate wide maintenance and vendors as needed to meet community needs
- Inspect grounds and buildings and prioritize projects, recommend capital improvements and evaluate improvements for value add
- Lead maintenance and housekeeping to take accountability for the building and grounds; monitor the look, smell, cleanliness and maintenance of all spaces
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance field, preferably in the hospitality industry or a senior living community
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required
- Technical college or 4 year degree preferred but not required
- Experience leading and managing the environmental services and housekeeping team
- Ability to complete community maintenance request (plumbing issues, minor electrical issues, changing light bulbs and ballast)
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Attend and participate in regular budget discussions for the environmental services division
- Ability to effectively prioritize projects, recommend capital improvements and evaluate improvements for value add
