Environmental Staff Scientist - Professional Service Industries Inc

PSI, an Intertek company, is searching for an Environmental Staff Scientist to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Westminster, COoffice. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile environmental career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!

What you'll do:

• Support the department on all environmental services including Phase I/II ESAs, asbestos surveys, lead-based paint surveys, UST/LUST assessments, site remediation, soil and groundwater sampling, wetland surveys, and/or field observation documentation.
• Assist in the development of work scope, report preparation, client and subcontractor coordination, and assessment of proper response actions.
• Manage and perform Environmental Site Assessments following the applicable ASTM Standards.
• Participate in the installation of soil borings, monitoring wells, remediation activities, waste management and disposal, and other field requirements using standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Author technical reports and proposals.
• Provide support planning, monitoring, and controlling project budgets and building solid relationships with clients and team members.

• BS degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field (required)
• 1+ years of proven technical environmental consulting experience (required)
• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record (required)
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training (preferred)
• Asbestos/lead inspectors license (preferred)
• Must be detail-oriented, and a team player with excellent communication, analytical, and organization, as well as time and budget management skills
• Must be computer literate and able to operate most field/office equipment relating to one's discipline
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
• Ability to climb occasionally

The base wage or salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
