ARLCS Environmental Team Member
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for performing duties in accordance with established organizational policies and procedures for providing a safe environment, achieved by demonstrating the principles of cleaning, disinfection and quality assurance toward the reduction of harmful pathogens for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff. While executing the assigned tasks, the floor technician will have contact with patients and family. Contact may include physical, psychological, educational, and safety-related and should be appropriate to the specific demographics of patients served in assigned work area. Possesses technical skills required to properly use cleaning and maintenance chemicals, floor equipment prescribed by written procedures of the environmental services department. Responsible for responding favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignments to meet facility needs
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Arkansas Lighthouse Charter School Environmental Team Members are responsible for more than facility maintenance and operations. - Performs all types of floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, include hard surfaces and carpeting.
- Adhere to all organizational safety, risk management and infection control standards and promotes a culture of safety.
- Cleans and performs routine maintenance on floor equipment; requesting assistance from plant operations and maintenance as needed.
- Maintains accurate floor care logs and checklists.
- Operates all equipment with care and according to facility and manufacturers safety standards and procedures
- Work in schools that demonstrates a sense of urgency and the relentless pursuit of high academic scholar achievement
- Reflective, self-aware and adaptable to communication and work styles of others
- Critical thinker and problem solver who takes initiative
- Belief in the power of collaboration and works to build a collaborative culture with ARLCS community, staff, families and students
FACILITY and EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
- Clean, dust, and sanitizes rooms; clean and wax floors; clean windows and stairs; sanitize lavatories, furniture, appliances, and support apparatus.
- Knowledge and skills in the use of power equipment, conventional and high-speed floor machines, carpet cleaning equipment, wet, dry and power vacuum equipment and push sweeper (preferred).
- Install paper products; deliver supplies and materials.
- Operate building systems, including HVAC, fire protection, security control, lighting, and safety.
- Complete inventory reports, daily cleaning and maintenance reports, and supply orders.
- Attend and participate in training programs.
- Keep equipment assigned to him/her clean.
- Follow safety procedures at all times.

Education
High School diploma, or G.E.D.
Experience, KNOWLEDGE & Skills
- At least two (1) year in a similar position or a position with comparable functions or a graduate of a facility cleaning and maintenance training program.
- Ability to operate effectively in a busy environment with intermittent interruptions.
- Excellent prioritization and organization skills; demonstrated decision-making and problem solving skills.
- Reading, writing, and mathematics skills equivalent to a High School graduate.
- Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations that apply to public buildings, knowledge of compliance regulations.
- Basic computer literacy (Word, Outlook).
- Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work on a Team.
- Knowledge of First Aid and CPR is required.
- Effective oral communication skills are required.
- Manual dexterity is required.
- Valid driver's license for assignments that involve travel between buildings or to pick up supplies.
- The position requires moderate to heavy physical activity and lifting.
