Overview:TRC is seeking an entry-level Environmental Technician in the Engineering, Construction, and Remediation practice of our Rancho Cordova, CA office to support storm water compliance inspections, multi-media sampling, general environmental field work and oversight, and associated desktop activities. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Field Team Leaders and integrate with the regional team.
Responsibilities:- Storm water compliance inspections for construction, industrial, and municipal sites, including storm water sampling and implementation of corrective actions.
- Installation of erosion control features, groundwater monitoring wells, and soil gas probes.
- Field sampling of surface water, groundwater, soil, and soil gas.
- Procurement of field equipment and supplies, including inspection for defects and troubleshooting as necessary.
- Equipment calibration, operation, and maintenance.
- Oversight of construction or other environmental field work, including safety oversight and air monitoring.
- Documentation and reporting for field activities.
- Assistance with environmental quality assurance and compliance activities, and site assessments.
- General permitting and project administration support.
Position Requirements:

- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, meeting quality and quantity goals.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions/ manuals, and procedure manuals.
- Read and interpret results of sampling/monitoring equipment.
- Reason through problems and faults to arrive at safe and prompt resolution.
- Demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and flexibility; perform assigned tasks to completion.
- Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
- Exhibit proficiency in data management and reporting using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Maintain a good driving record and be able to drive a company vehicle.
- Adhere to TRC Health & Safety Standards in all field-related activities.
Required Education and Training:
- Associate Degree or High School Diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, preferred
- QSP, CPESC or CESSWI certifications, desirable
Required License or Certification:
- Valid California Driver's License

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
