Intertek PSI, is searching for an Environmental Inspector/Technician to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Plymouth Township, Michigan office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!
What you'll do:
- Support the department on all environmental services including Lead Based Paint Inspections and Risk Assessments
- Managing LIRA projects
- Ability to prepare technical reports
- Ability to self-manage and make decisions during all phases of a project
- Ability to manage and control project budgets and build solid relationship with clients
- Operates XRF testing equipment and conducts testing and provides assessment of data through reporting
- Maintains and calibrates standard equipment
- Attend project meetings alone without supervision
- Trains other employees
- Make detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results
- Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results
- Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- Certified Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor and EBL with the state of Michigan required
- 4+ years of environmental consulting experience with regards to LBP is required along with EBL investigations
- Technical Degree - Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, etc. is highly preferred
- Must be able to perform tasks in varying field/office conditions
- Strong technical proposal and report writing abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record (required)
