Job Description Summary:
Under direction, the Survey Technician will perform a variety of survey tasks to support the survey crew's daily operations.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides technical support while working independently under the direction of the crew chief.
- Works closely with survey crew chief and site team to ensure complete and accurate survey data collection, correct staking, and proper work flow is being done.
- Utilizes survey equipment to stake or pin fences, silt fence, berms, roads, pile, electrical trenches, project boundaries, etc.
- Utilizes survey equipment to check grading elevations to design, record as built data of installed cable, measure quantities of materials, etc.
- Performs field survey activities compliant with standards set by the company.
- Operates and has knowledge of survey equipment functions, capabilities, and limitations.
- Maintains/ upkeeps survey equipment and coordinates calibrations and routine maintenance.
- Maintains and organizes survey supplies.
- Ensures survey UTV are kept clean, organized, stocked, and receive routine maintenance at the proper intervals.
- Participates in a team environment to achieve team/company goals and project milestones.
- Complies with all policies, practices, and procedures to ensure safe working conditions and environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Provide field support to other crews as needed.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
- Must have construction staking and topographic survey experience.
- Basic computer skills (AutoCAD/Civil 3d experience a plus)
- Valid state issued driver's license and clean driving record to meet company insurance requirements.
- Basic computer skills (AutoCAD/Civil 3d experience a plus)
- Ability to work outdoors including extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to work in urban and rural sites/roadways both containing flat or uneven terrain.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, squat, climb, and reach while surveying and operating surveying equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry, and use survey equipment/supplies, some equipment/supplies weighing up to 50+ pounds.
- Ability to cut and clear brush/trees as needed to complete survey duties.
- Potential exposure to harmful plants, insects, wildlife, and busy traffic
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Must be willing to travel to location of jobsite.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
