Position Overview:
We are seeking an Equipment Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will have a pivotal role in maintaining the functionality and upkeep of various machines and equipment at our various sites. You will also take charge of training, establishing safety protocols, and standard operating procedures. This role entails hands on trouble shooting and repair of our sophisticated systems working closely with our production and maintenance teams. This is a remote role with up to 50% travel required. This exempt position is paid depending on experience, up to $130,000.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the design, procurement and negotiation of equipment for capital projects, ensuring optimal functionality and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor key performance metrics of equipment and conduct systematic evaluations to pinpoint areas for optimization and efficiency enhancements.
- Collaborate with on-site maintenance teams to execute installation, training, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Collaborate closely with process engineering teams to implement strategic modifications or upgrades to equipment systems, bolstering performance and reliability.
- Deliver comprehensive training and mentorship to maintenance technicians and operational team members on equipment operation, maintenance best practices and safety protocols.
- Ensure unwavering compliance with regulatory mandates, industry benchmarks, and company directives pertaining to equipment operation, maintenance and safety.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with multihead weighers, fillers, and sealing machines, including prominent brands such as Ishida, Yamato, Multivac and ProSeal, preferably within a commercial food production setting.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs, reliability centered maintenance (RCM) principles, and predictive maintenance methodologies, underlining a proactive approach to equipment upkeep and optimization.
- Robust technical expertise encompassing mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic systems, coupled with adeptness in interpreting schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals to facilitate effective problem solving.
- Exceptional problem-solving acumen, with the ability to remain composed under pressure and devise innovative solutions to address equipment challenges promptly and efficiently.
- Experience with Auto CAD required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Bilingual ability in Spanish is a plus.
