Job Summary: Responsible for carrying out a wide variety of tasks related to planning, managing, supervising, ensuring compliance, and coordinating fleet related activities. They will be responsible for the final implementation and oversight of a fleet management system. Their main areas of focus include procurement and lifecycle management, tracking and maintaining all vehicles in the fleet, management of all DOT and other regulatory requirements, maintain quality control of fleet data and reporting, and managing budgets to improve the efficiency and quality of the fleet.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manages daily operations for the equipment, inventory management, and maintenance functions. Tracks the records, licenses, inspections, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools.
- Review, revise and implement vehicle policy for consistency with electronic management software. Ensure that employees meet the standards for vehicle use.
- Recommend changes in and establishment of policies and procedures to agency management.
- Control, efficiently plan, and organize the utilization of vehicle and motor equipment resources for daily, special, and emergency events.
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of Fleet Management System, including all data entry and generating and distributing reports as needed.
- Identify and implement "fixes" to outstanding issues like mileage entry for pool cars as well as any others identified through the investigative process.
- Develop a concise manual for staff.

- Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
- Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communications skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.
- Identifies training needs with assistance from managers. Develops a personal improvement plan and takes responsibility for learning and improving fleet management skills regularly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience in developing policies and procedures for fleet vehicle management and maintenance.
- 4 years fleet vehicle management
- Experience with fleet vehicle management and associated software; policies and procedures; and tracking of mileage and vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to document and develop users' manuals.
Working Conditions
- High-pressured, fast-paced environment with significant communication and since of urgency. Large number of multiple steps in complex system performed with accuracy and speed is essential to the successful completion of tasks.

Travel
- Less than 10% - Some travel to visit projects as needed.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field of study or equivalent preferred
- 2 - 4 years' experience in fleet management preferred, but not required
