Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sets self as an example of workplace safety; utilizes all personal protective equipment required for each project site

• Operates heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life

• Ability to operate Bulldozers, Excavators and Motor Graders

• Ability to operate support equipment such as front-end loaders, rubber tire backhoes, mini-excavators, skid steers, off road trucks, rollers, etc.)

• Knowledge of GPS equipment including machine control & GPS rover

• Perform preventive equipment maintenance (including greasing, checking & maintaining oil/fluid levels, filters, etc.)

• Properly secure equipment each day

• Notify project foreman of project field problems

Preferred Training and Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Heavy equipment operation

• Ability to operate Bulldozers, Excavators and Motor Graders efficiently

• Ability to operate support equipment well (including front end loader, rubber tire backhoe, mini-excavator, skid steer, off road truck, roller, etc.)

• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications

Physical Requirements

• Must be physically able to exert up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects

• Work involves sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time

• Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of five to fifty pounds
