Job DescriptionOverview:
This position will be responsible for the complete operation, troubleshooting and repair in their designated area.
Here's what you'll do:
- Responsible for the setup and safe operation of the equipment.
- Perform all necessary pre-start checks, general equipment repairs, preventive maintenance; cleaning, proper shutdown procedures and troubleshoot to assure accuracy of equipment. Calibrate unit on a regular basis to ensure proper performance.
- Complete downtime tracking documentation.
- Maintain daily operator log book to document observations, machine adjustments, etc.
- Monitor fruit samples for quality, size, grade and identify when adjustments are necessary.
- Maintain all electronic and hardware in clean and good operation conditions.
- Facilitate training on all equipment.
- Communicate with team members all vital information necessary to successfully execute our company and mission goals but not losing sight of employee and food safety.
- Continuously monitor all relevant performance metrics, and be able to make adjustments as needed to correct deviations.
- Participate in “minding the fruit” by taking ownership of their respective areas (continuously monitoring performance of equipment, quality of work, identifying barriers to success and taking meaningful action.)
- Understand other departments/areas so as to minimize any negative external impact to their departments.
- Hand off to the next shift, a work area that you yourself would expect from the other shift.
- Assist in the continuous improvement efforts at the facilities in Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Cost and Productivity
- Other duties as assigned.
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
- High school diploma or GED.
- The position requires precision and is very detail oriented.
- Ability to perform light mechanical troubleshooting and parts replacement.
- Speak, read and write in the English language, bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in oral and written form.
- Precious knowledge of fruit, fruit quality and grade characteristics is a plus but not required.
- Must work with fellow co-workers and promote a teamwork environment.
- Good problem solving skills and communication.
- Must have basic computer skills; experience required using Microsoft Windows (i.e. Excel and Word).
- Basic mathematical skills required. Must understand ratios, minimums and maximums and percentages.
- Ability to multi-task and be comfortable in a fast-paced work setting
Pay Rate: $18.75
