Equipment Operator Lead at Samsonite

The Equipment Operator Lead will assist the Manager Receiving/Inventory Control with day-to-day operations. This position will help train new hires and provide safety and guidance. The Equipment Operator Lead will provide leadership support with employee and work-related issues, manage daily workloads, and work with other departments to achieve goals.

•         Follow company policies and procedures.

•         Maintain a safe working environment.

•         Must be able to drive a Pallet Rider, Clamp and Swing reach.

•         Monitor Equipment and recommend changes for safe operations.

•         Be able to communicate frequently.

•         Organize and prioritize daily tasks.

•         Train, Coach, Mentor, and motivate the team.

•         Provide recommendations on process improvement and assist in implementation.

•         Ensure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.

•         Give direction to the team and help in cross-training.

•         Be able to multi-task and work under pressure.

•         Track individuals’ performance and productivity.

Minimum Requirements

•         Excellent communication skills.

•         Excellent interpersonal skills.

•         Must be dependable.

•         Willing to work OT if needed.

Preferred Skills and Industry experience: 

•         Must be able to drive a forklift, cherry picker, clamp and swing reach.

•         Ability to work under pressure.

•         Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize.

•         At least 2 years of experience in warehousing.

•         Strong teamwork skills: ability to work collaboratively with others and possess confidence to offer suggestions and improvements where necessary.

•         Must be able to work in a hot and cold environment.

•         Ability to adapt to change.
