Position Summary:Performs tasks within the facility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment for all employees.
Essential Responsibilities:- Using blueprints, electrical schematics, plumbing schematics, and/or instruction to fabricate and assemble tooling, machinery, and test equipment.
- Uses power and non-powered hand tools and complex machinery to fabricate, test and maintain equipment.
- Uses horizontal or vertical mills to machine or fabricate components or parts to repair or complete items like specialty machine guarding or other devices used in the plant or manufacturing process.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area and uses safe work practices to complete tasks.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to keep machines in peak performance and complaint with our requirements.
- Complies with all documentation and recordkeeping requirements.
- Conducts diagnostic evaluations and repairs problems with existing equipment and tooling.
- Partners with external vendors or service providers.
- Ability to achieve and maintain certifications in confined space, lock-out tag out and other safety requirements.
- Perform assigned work independently and as a team under a variety of physical and environmental constraints including time deadlines, working in confined spaces, at heights, around electricity, fluids, moving machinery.
- Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to facility related maintenance tasks such as snow removal, ladder and hoist work and other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree or equivalent form two- year college or technical school; or a minimum of 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Machining experience (particularly manual mill and lathe).
- PLC programming and Troubleshooting.
- CNC troubleshooting and repairs.
- Understanding of Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and electrical Trades.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and plumbing schematics.
- Understanding of tolerance stack-ups.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Some electrical assembly experience.
- Experience with PM and other record keeping systems.
- Assist with spare parts inventory.
- Assist with Facility related Renovations and Repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair and work with Automation Machines. (Robots, Wash Systems, Testers)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of mechanics, pneumatic, hydraulics and electronics. Machine shop experience helpful, along with CAD experience and machine building.
