Summary
Under general supervision, this position is required to provide technical assistance to district operations to meet equipment requirements, evaluate internal equipment orders and coordinate deliveries to meet demand
Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining field inventory levels of distribution transformers at all warehouses in Oncor’s territory
This position will also be on a rotating on-call duty to provide technical assistance during lights out emergency along with managing staging sites on and off system
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Under general Supervision, the incumbent will
:
+ Perform all essential functions and aspects of the job including any other specific job requirements assigned by management + Complies with all Oncor policies, rules and established safe work practices and procedures
+ Exercises initiative and resourcefulness in planning, scheduling and completing work assignments + Recommends and schedules equipment deliveries to various service locations as required to meet internal customer demand + Communicates and coordinates with management and work group members to ensure efficient use of all related resources including but not limited to: time, personnel, vehicles, tools and equipment + Ensures daily, weekly, and monthly required tasks are accomplished + Works to establish and maintain effective relationships with others, both internal and external, to achieve goals + Knowledgeable of applications and limitations of switchgear configurations, regulators, and re-closers throughout the Oncor system
+ Technical knowledge of transformer designs, configurations, sizes, and voltages to meet installations requirements of transformer and provide technical assistance to districts on available replacement units.
+ Knowledgeable of proper loading limitations and unloading procedures of semi-trucks and trailers
Including step decks, float trailers, tankers, dry vans, crane truck, and hotshot goosenecks
+ Understand supply chain concepts that maximize the efficiency of fleet logistics + Monitors and maintains equipment inventory to meet demand at service centers + Coordinates and monitors job site deliveries of distribution equipment + Provide technical assistance on sizing and installing metering equipment installation on distribution transformers + Monitors system records and makes corrections based on customer need + Knowledgeable and capable of interpreting construction drawings and work instructions to determine equipment demands + Occasional over-night travel
+ Requires on-call rotation for emergency response + Provide technical assistance for transformer configurations and sizing requirements during emergency change outs
+ Provide logistic support on storms for up to two weeks on and off system + Forklift Certified + Contribute to weekly safety meetings + Excellent communication skills : Verbal & written
Education, Experience, & Skills
Education
+ High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
+ Relevant experience, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is preferred
Experience
Equipment Tech I : + Two to Four years of experience in supply chain and distribution operations is preferred
Equipment Tech II : + Four to Six years of experience in supply chain and distribution operations is preferred
Equipment Tech III : + Six or more years of experience in supply chain and distribution operations is preferred
Skills
+ Working knowledge of Maximo
+ Technical understanding of distribution equipment and associated construction standards + Proficiency in MS Office applications and MS Outlook or other similar software is preferred + Must possess computer skills necessary for working with all PC and main-frame applications used by Equipment Management such as WMIS, MAXIMO, AEGIS and other Oncor inventory or data management systems to track materials at SOSF and throughout the Oncor system
+ Demonstrated team player who has a proven record of establishing trust of others and building and maintaining effective relationships + Strong project coordination skills; the ability to handle multiple projects at one time

+ Safely completes all work assignments in accordance with company standards, regulations and accepted safe work practices and procedures within acceptable time frames + Accurately completes required paper work in acceptable time frames + Effectively works with members of management and other groups to achieve acceptable goals and levels of customer satisfaction + Appropriately represents the company and management in a positive manner
