Job purpose
The Equipment Training Specialist is responsible for setting up new equipment for production changeovers. This position will train with OEM technicians when they are on site and will train operators and leads on new and existing equipment. The Equipment Training Specialist will assist in creating SOPs for new and existing equipment and processes. This position is responsible for being in compliance with all employee safely, food safety, facility audits, and GMP requirements at all times.
Duties and responsibilities
-Training operators and leads on new equipment
-Working with OEM technicians to learn new equipment
-Assist with equipment centerlines and SOPs
-Make training documents for new equipment
-Setup machines for big changeovers
-Assist production troubleshooting and fixing equipment
-Must be able to work other shifts for training purposes
-Tracking change parts and keeping inventory
Qualifications
-Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working with and operating machines
-Must be able to read English and follow equipment manual instructions
-Must have great troubleshooting abilities
-Self-motivated, results orientated, and excellent personal skills
-Great documenting skills and communication
-Ability to train others
Experience
-Excellent communication skills, and respectful of others
-Organized, detail orientated, and a can-do, hands-on work ethic
-Proficient computer skills with EXCEL, WORD
-Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes
-Self-motivated, results orientated, and excellent personal skills
Working conditions
- Must be able to work any hours/days, including Holidays and/or weekends
Physical requirements
- A non-slip resistant work shoe
- Must be able to work all shifts as directed.
- Pre-shift stretch and exercises to be performed
- Hair restraint, beard net (if needed), and Safety gloves as needed
- All required PPEs are worn properly when working with equipment or chemicals that require personal protection
- Position requires the ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walking around the facility, lifting and carrying up t0 50-LBS unassisted, reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting
- Also requires the ability to: see, hear, and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette
