The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for an Equity Strategy and Partnerships Manager on our National Advocacy team (home based is acceptable). 

The Equity Strategy and Partnerships Manager will be focused on ensuring that those populations most impacted by obesity are well represented in the strategic planning and campaign development and implementation efforts of the Voices for Healthy Kids initiative.  The Equity Strategy and Partnerships Manager will work to identify and strategically engage other organizations and coalitions working in this specific space with the capacity to support and enhance the goals of Voices for Healthy Kids.  This position will collaborate with team members, under the direction of the Equity Strategy and Partnerships Sr. Manager, to support focusing direct resources into tailored policy efforts in high-disparity and low socioeconomic status communities and populations.

• Cultivate relationships with national health equity and social justice organizations, other philanthropic organizations, public health coalitions, and others working with high-disparity and low socioeconomic status communities and populations disproportionately impacted by childhood obesity in order to help advance Voices for Healthy Kids priorities.
• Supports and informs Voices for Healthy Kids technical assistance and training for state and local public policy grantees. Assesses strategic needs of public policy grantees and mobilizes the assets of national health equity and social justice partners as appropriate.
• Attends and participates in all relevant American Heart Association, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), and other external meetings throughout the year, including volunteer advocacy meetings, as appropriate.
• Oversees implementation and advises on ongoing revision and evaluation of the health equity strategic approach for the Voices for Healthy Kids initiative
• Works within an integrated and dynamic partnerships team and overall Voices initiative

• Bachelors degree
• 3 years of relevant experience
• Experience in:
  • Community Advocacy; Project Management; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Healthcare Knowledge, Business Development; Campaign Management; Collaboration; Customer Relationship Management; Effective Communication; Initiative; Innovation; Networking; Promotion; Event Management; Meeting Management;Relationship Building; Self-Motivation

Expected pay range will be $70,000 -$86,000.  Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
