About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Emergency Room (ER) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-hour nights; 2 weekends per 4 weeks; 2 out of 3 major holidays **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years **License:** Required to submit **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** Cerner experience preferred **Job Description:** - 33 total patient care rooms; 25 rooms with cardiac monitors, suitable for all patient types - Triage area with 2 bays, staffed with mid-level healthcare practitioners and nurses - Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4; average of 210 patients per day - Charge nurse available 24/7 - Use of ER techs with EMT, MA, or CNA experience to perform tech duties and EKGs - GE tele monitoring system with a central monitor station at both nurses' stations - No floating outside of the ER - Floor-specific orientation includes up to 6 shifts with a preceptor - Common diagnoses include routine ER patients; transfers for STEMIs, hemorrhagic strokes, and pediatric cases - Facility is stroke certified and the base hospital for EMS; follows EMTALA to stabilize and treat all ED patients - Strong documentation skills required - No IV team; RT and pharmacy available 24/7 - Navy blue scrubs required; jackets must also be navy; undershirts can be navy, white, or black - No first-time travelers - Cerner charting system; opportunity to test out of Cerner training if experience is recent - May board patients and ER nurses will manage ER holds - Cancellation policy allows the hospital to cancel up to 3 times per contract, with potential payment for full hours if cancelled Note: The shift hours include Days (7 am - 7:30 pm), Mids (various starting times), and Nights (7 pm - 7:30 am).
