About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Emergency Room (ER) Nurse **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-hour nights, 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years **License:** Required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** Cerner experience preferred **Job Description:** - The position requires strong, thorough documentation skills. - You will work in a 33-bed Emergency Room with an average of 210 patients seen. - Responsible for providing comprehensive care, nurses will handle a variety of typical ER patients, but will send out serious conditions like STEMIs, hemorrhagic strokes, and pediatric cases. - Maintain patient stabilization and treatment in compliance with federal law. - The ER unit is supported by 24/7 on-site pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and charge nurse presence. - Weekend work is required every other weekend, with holidays being 2 out of 3 major ones. - Nurses should be prepared to handle ER holds when boarding patients is necessary. - You will not be required to float outside of the ER. - All staff must adhere to strict dress code requirements, including wearing navy blue scrubs and permissible undershirt colors. - Participate in an orientation period of up to 6 shifts with a preceptor. - The hospital environment requires adaptability in a fast-paced and often intense setting. - Must have familiarity with using tele and central monitoring systems. - Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including physicians, mid-level staff, and ER techs equipped with EMT, MA, or CNA experience. This role is demanding but rewarding, requiring a commitment to patient care excellence in an acute emergency setting.
