About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department **Job Specialty:** Emergency Department (ED/ER) **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Days, 07:00-19:00 **Guaranteed Hours:** 48 hours per week **Experience:** 1-2 years minimum; 1 year in a Level 1 Trauma facility or 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility **License:** Current RN License (eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri) **Certifications:** - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from AHA only - Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - may be submitted without but must obtain prior to start **Must-Have:** - Experience in a busy urban trauma center - 1 year Emergency Department in a Level 1 or 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility - High acuity experience preferred **Job Description:** - Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care. - Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care. - Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. - Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. - Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. - Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission, values, and service standards. - Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. - Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. - Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice and relevant standards and codes. - Demonstrate skill in human relations and communications. - Demonstrate clinical expertise in the area of responsibility. - Stand, walk, lift, and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs as part of the physical work environment. **Additional Information:** - This is a Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI center, and regional burn center. - Patient ratios are routinely 4:1 but may change due to surge and other circumstances. - Scrub Color: Professional attire required (specific color not specified).
