About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Emergency Department **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Days, 07:00-19:00 **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 or 48 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 1-2 years in a Level 1 emergency department or 2 years in a Level 2 trauma facility **License:** Current RN License eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri **Certifications:** - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association - Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – may be submitted without, but must obtain prior to start **Must-Have:** - 1 year of experience in a Level 1 emergency department or 2 years in a Level 2 trauma facility - High acuity experience preferred **Job Description:** - Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care - Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care - Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers - Coordinates patient care with other departments - Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information - Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and service standards - Works in a fast-paced, urban trauma center - Engages with diverse patient populations, including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and burn center patients - Demonstrates skill in human relations and communication - Physically capable of standing and walking most of the time on duty; lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs - Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and service standards **Additional Preferences:** - Experience in trauma/pediatrics with a facility serving over 200 patients per day - A personality that fits as determined, decisive, and flexible - Ability to adapt to change and manage stressful situations
