The Environmental Services Assistant - Waste Processor will be responsible for:
1
Performing all daily sterilization and disposal duties related to the preparation, operation, maintenance, and cleaning of San I Pak (regulated waste processing) machine
Ensuring biohazardous material is not radioactive
2
Setting up equipment at the beginning of each shift
3
Loading San I Pak with regulated waste for proper sterilization
Also loading regular (solid) waste for compaction before final disposal
4
Checking control panel, gauges, and chart recorder for proper functioning
5
Monitoring digital display during operation to ensure the machine is properly functioning and notifies supervisor of any changes in system operation
6
Conducting spore tests regularly, logging results
Alerting supervisor to reportable results
7
Entering data (processing times, weights, volume) into a daily log
Monitoring trends and informing the supervisor of extreme discrepancies
8
Coordinating all activities related to the San I Pak machine during shift
To qualify, you must have:
1
Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations where the information or problems are relatively routine.
2
The ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions in English.
3
Setting up equipment at the beginning of each shift
4
Ability to communicate English with patients and/or visitors, which involves courtesy.
5
1 year of previous work experience is required
*Schedule will be 7am to 3:30pm Weekends and one Weekday*
