Under direction of the Director Financial Applications, this position is responsible for the development and on-going management of reporting and analytical solutions for the Financial/Accounting groups as well as the Property Management/Property Operations community within Equity Residential’s Essbase, Microsoft Power BI and Oracle Planning environments. Requires the ability to effectively work with all levels of the user community in developing solution designs, as well as work either independently and/or as part of a team to take solution designs to completion. This includes: project planning and management; developing data validation strategies; report design and development; interacting with IT on technical support; and support of users concerning Essbase.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Ongoing role in managing the maintenance of Hyperion Applications including (but not limited to) Metadata, Business Rules, Calculation Scripts, Planning Forms & Data Loads. including
- Monitoring Applications performance, availability, user access and utilization.
- Validate process results & monitor log files.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with all company defined internal controls
- Safeguarding the company's main financial repository and critical applications through regular backups.
- Manage and maintain data interfaces from key operating systems including (but not limited to),HCM, MRI,SQL Server, Azure & user defined data sources. Including Managing and implementing system/software upgrades.
- Automate and enhance key processes including assisting in the documentation of document data flow and legacy processes
- Provide training and functional support to end-users where needed
- Manage and ensure completeness of routine report distribution, including designing, developing and implementing reports to address end-user needs and improve frequency accuracy and timeliness of internal reporting.
- Collaborate with the Director Financial Systems and Director of Business Intelligence to develop and execute the company's BI/Reporting roadmap, including the implementation of governance and enterprise deployment of Power BI. This involves assisting in UAT testing, providing training and support to end-users, and ensuring compliance with data privacy and security policies.
- Assists with departmental special projects, including functional & technical design & development of new Applications as needed, and other duties as necessary.
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Self-motivated individual with 7+ years of Oracle Essbase development, or equal experience as a BI developer is required.
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
- Process automation/ experience creating automation scripts
- General Understanding of Accounting
- 7+ Years Experience with on-line accounting systems, Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL and Word processing skills required.
- Expertise within the Microsoft BI stack, including TSQL, PowerBI, Power Query, MDX and DAX, is preferred.
Good written and verbal communication skills and analytical and complex problem solving skills are essential. - Must be able to organize and prioritize workload. Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently, while being able to work on numerous projects concurrently with the ability to effectively prioritize workload.
