Seaton Construction Group, LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team. The Estimating Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of accurate and competitive bids, managing the estimation process from start to finish, and collaborating with various teams to ensure the successful execution of construction projects. This role is vital to ensuring that all estimates align with the company's goals for profitability, timeline, and quality. - Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the estimating team to produce accurate and competitive estimates.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to junior estimators, ensuring a collaborative and efficient team environment.
- Bid Preparation & Review:
- Oversee the preparation of cost estimates and bids for all types of commercial and industrial construction projects, including design-build and hard bid projects.
- Review all final estimates for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements before submission.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine costs related to labor, materials, and equipment.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination:
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to solicit and review pricing, ensuring accurate estimates.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality work.
- Collaboration with Project Teams:
- Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop strategies for project execution, cost management, and risk mitigation.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Risk Management & Analysis:
- Identify potential risks and opportunities in project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
- Provide alternative solutions to mitigate risks and reduce costs where appropriate.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve the estimating process, tools, and software to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
- Stay current on industry trends, materials, and best practices to improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and present detailed estimate summaries, cost breakdowns, and value engineering options to executive leadership.
- Maintain organized and detailed documentation of all estimates, change orders, and project budgets.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Extensive experience estimating commercial and industrial construction projects of varying sizes and complexities.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Leadership Abilities:
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered.
