Estimating & Purchasing Manager - Kiella Homebuilders

About the Job
We are currently seeking an experienced Estimating & Purchasing Manager to join our team at Kiella Homebuilders. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the estimation and purchasing processes for our new construction homes of which we build around 120 per year. You will work closely with our VP of Construction as well as our vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely estimates and purchases are made to support our construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze cost estimates for residential construction projects
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and quotes
- Review construction plans and specifications to identify materials and quantities needed
- Manage the bidding process for subcontractors and negotiate pricing
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors
- Create and manage purchasing schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies
- Monitor and track project costs and budget
- Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating and purchasing for residential construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and best practices
- Proficient in using estimating software and tools
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
