As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, communicating with subcontractors and suppliers, and managing estimate data to ensure the financial success of our projects. Job Responsibilities:
- Review project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing for specific project components.
- Maintain updated records of material costs and supplier quotes.
- Use proprietary systems to input and manage estimate data.
- Work closely with the project management team to align estimates with project goals.
- Analyze market trends to adjust pricing strategies and ensure competitive estimates.
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies and coordinate with the finance team on budget forecasts.
- Conduct site visits to gather information for accurate estimates.
- Prepare and present detailed estimate reports to management.
- Administer quantity take-offs, competitive bidding, and value engineering to control and reduce direct construction costs.
- Support the sales department with pricing requirements and technical support.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in estimating, particularly in construction or a related industry (3+ years).
- Strong understanding of construction materials, processes, and cost estimation techniques.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet and exceed deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with field personnel, trade partners, and internal departments.
- Proven track record in competitive bidding, contract negotiations, and value engineering.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
