Our organization is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our Construction team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our operations, providing accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. This is a full-time position, offering a unique opportunity to work on exciting and diverse construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in cost analysis within the construction industry and a proven track record of delivering accurate estimates that contribute to the profitability and success of construction projects.
Responsibilities:
As an Estimator, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
2. Preparing detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades.
3. Reviewing data to determine material and labor requirements and preparing itemized lists.
4. Computing cost factors and preparing estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
5. Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
6. Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
7. Adjusting and managing previous cost estimates to reflect updated time schedules, project plans, and specifications.
8. Communicating with team members regarding new and current projects.
9. Preparing reports and presentations to provide to company leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost analysis in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience as a construction estimator.
3. In-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
4. Exquisite math and IT ability with an analytical mindset.
5. Proficient in relevant software
6. Thorough knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
7. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
8. Attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
9. Relevant certification (e.g. Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)) will be a strong advantage.
10. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
