We are growing our Estimating/ Preconstruction team! If you are an experienced Estimator for a General Contractor, we would like to meet with you!
Position Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Compiles, reviews, analyzes, and quotes project materials, labor, equipment, data, environmental factors, and overall costs.
- Manages the bid process, bid pricing, preparing cost analyses and providing timely completion of estimates. Also supports and assists as needed with projects assigned to the greater Estimating and Preconstruction Team.
- Prepares technical evaluations, cost estimating draft reports, memos, and letters and presents recommendations to management.
- Develops, provides and communicates cost estimating on all assigned projects utilizing alternate delivery method contracts when necessary.
- Accurately and thoroughly forecasts costs of future projects as well as changes to existing projects while also developing timely estimates for each design deliverable at each phase of design development.
- Delivers and develops pre-planning and conceptual estimates. This includes providing accurate estimates within the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) using the allotted project timeframe for completion and project specifications.
- Establishes working relationships with project owners, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors while reviewing and explaining project estimates as necessary.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or closely related discipline and 3 to 5 years of construction experience with a General Contractor or 5 to 8 years of experience in construction estimating for a General Contractor with no degree.
- Ability to consistently deliver accurate and thorough estimates while setting realistic expectations of the company's ability to deliver construction services.
- Demonstrated experience delivering pre-planning and conceptual estimates as well as accurately and thoroughly forecasting costs.
- Proven ability to compile, review, analyze and quote project costs while effectively managing the full cycle bid process.
- Thorough understanding of bidding different contract types - lump sum, GMP, unit price, etc.
- Experienced in construction layout, blueprint and shop drawing readings.
- Must possess technical understandings of architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing disciplines.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office skills including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Possess strong communication and sales skills to secure a client agreement or service.
- Excellent time management, problem solving, decision making, human relations, presentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Understand and respect the importance of confidentiality.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
